I am an IT Manager with over 27 years experience in the IT industry within the Private sector. I have worked for several organisations over my career dealing with many leading-edge vendors on projects from Cyber Security, Virtualisation, Backup, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Enterprise Storage& Networking, Microsoft Cloud and ERP/ECM implementations. I am a dedicated, confident, hardworking, reliable and responsible individual with a very positive “can do” attitude that loves a challenge.I am currently Group IT Infrastructure Manager for The Banks Group, a family-owned Private Limited Company with around 300 employees based in North East England. Banks specialise in Construction, Mining, Renewable Energy and Property Development. Since joining Banks in June 2008, the groups IT service has undergone a huge transformation evolving from “Comms in a Cupboard” to a resilient, highly available, sophisticated virtual environment running on a mix of leading-edge All-Flash storage arrays and Microsoft public cloud.Suppliers and peers view us as innovative leaders, not afraid to embrace new and emerging technologies. Through development of ICT roadmaps we have been able to reduce risk, profile growth, plan appropriately and deliver secure, fit for purpose, reliable and resilient market leading systems effectively on time and within budget. Our leading infrastructure has drastically increased the profile of the Banks IT service with both internal stakeholders and our external network of trusted partners. Through proactive monitoring and implementation of robust underlying hardware we are now viewed by our customers as reliable and efficient. This enables us to react and adapt quickly to changes in industry or business need in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

Installation of appropriate hardware/software to provide continued IT provision in the event of hardware failure or disaster.Managing relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, colleagues and trusted partners to identify opportunities for business improvement via training, optimisation, hardware/software/service purchase or development. Provide third line support for ICT Service Desk and Development Teams to resolve issues andimplement changes across the entire IT service catalogue.
