Director Talent Acquisition
London, Gb
ForwardPMX (now Assembly Global) acquired The Search Agency in January 2020, and eliminated my role in May 2020 during the global Covid-19 shutdown. Prior to our acquisition, The Search Agency was one of the largest independent Search Marketing Agencies in the United States: among the fastest growing companies on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500. As their first TA resource, I created their entire hiring process: establishing an efficient hiring process, conducting manager training sessions, improving DEI results, and overseeing a marked improvement in employee retention.During my tenure, our agency gained respect as a major thought-leader among digital marketers - particularly in Paid Search and Paid Social Advertising - and became an attractive target for acquisition. My Areas of Impact:* Talent Acquisition: - I managed the full talent lifecycle, including job marketing, recruitment, candidate selection, social media, hiring manager training, and employee retention. - Inaugurated new recruiting strategy, building process from the ground-up. Designed new forms to facilitate communication and stakeholder buy-in for Position Requisition, New Hire Approval, Personnel Action (Raise/Promotion), and even added a 90-day onboarding follow-up. - Trained management on interview best-practices, and guided decision-making process. Negotiated all salary offers. - Dramatically reduced time-to-hire from previous process, saving the company millions of dollars in agency fees. * Inclusion & Diversity: Inaugurated blind screening process to eliminate as much bias as possible from the screening process.* Employee Development/Retention: - Redesigned company's "Annual Review" process to take focus away from the traditional high-anxiety format (single pressure-filled event, backwards-focused) to a more forward-looking goals-focused conversation. - Redesigned our PIP form to redirect our development program from focusing on punishment, to concentrating on goals/improvement.
