I perform endless amounts of facial animation tasks encompassing story mode and in-game. Aside from internal facial duties, I facilitate multiple outsourcers in production, bring them up to speed with our pipeline, rig, scripts and tools. I direct facial techniques/styles, perform technical troubleshooting, critique and review work until the final level of polish is achieved. I work closely with our director while we shoot over 200 minutes of story on stage and ensure solid facial performances from our actors that propagate onto our facial rigs. On MK11, we've re-vamped our entire facial pipeline even more-so from what we've learned on INJ2. I work with our Character and Tech Art Team to create an animator friendly FACS based control rig. Our character group utilizes a photo-grammety setup comprised of multiple HD cameras to scan actors faces. This rig was proven by many animators to be highly efficient in our capture-to-hand-key facial pipeline. On our story mode production we utilized Faceware HMC's and AJA KI pro recording decks to capture actor performances. The performances are then adjusted and polished in a hand-key pipeline.I am in charge of our real-time facial animation including character Intros, Victories, Fatalities, Super moves, Player Select, Gear Select as well as In-Game expression poses and animations. We captured over 15,000 lines of dialogue for our Character intros and quips. Using HMC's we shoot a Face over technique with performance actors to merit solid performances and cohesive reference. I work on cinematic layout and staging for story mode, pre-visualization, in-game or real-time "wow" moments such as, "Fatalities", "X-Rays", “Supermoves”, Cinematic transitions from one fight plane to another, and QTE's. I aid in hooking up our cinematics to function in game as well as work with the tech group to insure the cinematic quality in our realtime content works as intended. Show less
