This position is an expansion of my strategic focus of the Machine Design engineering department at Dart Container and now includes not only the pure engineering side of Machine Design, as described directly below under Engineering Supervisor, but the technical services (plant support, machine commercialization, etc.) side of the group as well. Responsibilities included supporting the Chair of the EHSC, attending all subcommittee meetings, and overseeing the Action Item Log to insure items had owners assigned with due dates and that actions were closed in a timely manner.06/2019 - 05/2020 - Served as Chairperson for the Engineering Health and Safety Committee (EHSC). In this role, I was responsible for developing, compiling, and leading a monthly engineering leaders safety meeting. I was also the direct liaison between the EHSC and the Technical Leadership Team (TLT) and would attend those monthly meetings when I needed to make a proposal and get approval for various, safety-related initiatives. During my tenure, I attended Dart Container's annual safety conference as the Dart Engineering representative where I presented several case studies to our manufacturing and regional safety representative on the delays and costs incurred when safety is administered in a non-standard, opinion based way rather than a comprehensive and consistently applied standard operating procedure.

Managing a technical team of approximately 10 engineers and designers in the Machine Design Group by providing proactive leadership, direction, technical oversight & problem solving, as well as mentoring and providing ongoing support resources as needed in order to help achieve Dart Container Corporation's strategic goals by developing specification, conceptualizing, designing, building, validating, and implementing safe and efficient custom product processing equipment. Project planning and managment, customer support, staffing and teambuilding, and process development are also a critical functions of this role.

I was brought on as the first Product Manager in the history of the company. As such, I am responsible for gathering relevant market data from a variety of sources, both internal and external, and discern emerging technology trends that can be applied to our existing products or to create new products in adjacent and possibly new markets where we can utilize our core competencies to the fullest. Innovation and Technology output is evaluated and filtered with data-driven market analysis as well as financial review in order to determine what products/projects will receive corporate investment and be brought to production. This is the position I hired into Sullair Corporation as and was charged with developing a new electronic and pneumatic control system. In this endeavor I worked closely with two primary suppliers in bringing our specifications into a successful product launch. Also, during this time (2003-2005) I gained my MBA and began preparing myself to grow with the company.

At this time the company produced three main products (air compressors, pressure washers, & generators) for the "big box" outlets like Sears, The Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I had design responsibility for the generators that covered 1-10 kW. I was also responsible for managing the Life Test Rooms (2) where we could test up to 24 generators. I had to develop and design some unique application tests for potential new products as a result.

Murray was well known for their bicycles, which were made at another facility, but also mass produced mowers and snowthrowers, which I worked on, for retailers like Sears, The Home Depot, etc. I was primarily responsible for evaluating manufacturing issues that impacted product quality and finding solutions to correct those issues. These issues would include getting in-house weld fixtures re-calibrated/rebuilt, working with suppliers and their processes to raise component quality as received, design functional improvements into our product as a result of market feedback, and all of the other typical manufactuing/design engineering responsibilities.
