As a consultant I offer support and advice to charities and other organisations needing help with strategic analysis, organisational change, building leadership and management teams, and understanding and influencing Government. I draw on my unique combination of experience as a charity CEO (4 years) and as a senior leader in Whitehall at Board and Director level. I am also a qualified and experienced executive coach and charity Trustee.My Whitehall experience included establishing the Big Lottery Fund, developing policy and legislation on the National Lottery, gambling and broadcasting, being Chief Operating Officer of the Royal Parks,a £25 million government agency, and being Director of Finance and Planning for the Department for CultureI subsequently ran GamCare, a national charity in the addictions field, during which time I led and piloted the organisation through a period of significant change, including doubling the number of people helped, developing and introducing new initiatives and programmes using innovative approaches, particularly for young people, opening up new sources of funding both through trading and fundraising, and increasing core funding by 50%.
