Andy qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, now part of PWC, in 1984. He worked in both the London and New York offices, where he specialised in corporate finance. He has since served as a Director for both AIM listed and SME's businesses .As a hands-on commercial director, Andy has a strong track record in the management of complex corporate transactions, raising funds for investment and the purchase and sale of businesses. He has worked with Private Equity funds on buyout transactions and has experience of helping businesses in restructuring or turnaround situations.He has particular experience in working with businesses to improve management information and reporting systems, resulting in improvements to management and performance criteria. This includes running change management programmes involving integrated IT systems. A strategic thinker with experience across a range of sectors, including: manufacturing, retail, media, recruitment, IT and financial services. He uses his presentation skills, to write for the ‘Growing Business’ magazine on topical subjects relevant to the SME and has given lectures to the combined Institute of Accountants and the IOD on how to get more out of the finance function. He is currently the Commercial and Finance Director for Lorega Ltd, a specialist Lloyds MGA insurance business, where he oversees the finance and other commercial functions, including brand, communication and marketing. In this role he has overseen the rebranding of the company, the launch of new products, the redesign of sales and marketing materials, corporate communications, social media campaigns and video production. In 2016 he helped the company achieve an MBO from the previous owners with investment funds provided by Alcuin Capital Partners.He also serves as the Non Executive Chairman to an international recruitment business, specialising in book and journal publishing with offices in the UK and overseas.
