The UK's biggest student newspaper, serving over 40,000 people, we aim to be an integral part of student life at the University of Manchester.As Features Editor, I contributed around 2,000 words per week on a wide range of issues. I predominantly focused on interviews with high-profile figures in literature, music, politics and the media, but also covered student politics and breaking national news stories. I was the first person to report on the difficulties facing then-Editor of Newsnight, Peter Rippon, over the Jimmy Savile scandal.I also pioneered The Mancunion's live-blogging capabilities, covering events including the 2013 Students' Union elections and the University of Manchester's victorious University Challenge campaign.These achievements were recognised with two Manchester Student Media Awards (Section of the Year and Interview of the Year).

Our purpose is to conduct and publish research into, and promote public education in, the economic, social and political sciences, and in science and technology; including the effect of moral, social, political and scientific factors on public policy and on the living standards of all sections of the community.During a four-week internship, I honed my research skills by providing material for papers concerning the reshaping of university admissions, the changing face of family life in Britain, and the undersupply of housing. I was also responsible for drafting press releases for upcoming IPPR projects.

The UK's leading dental payment plan specialist, Denplan has over 6,500 member dentists and around 1.7 million patients across the country, as well as serving over 1,900 companies with employee benefit schemes.Having recognised the importance of social media as a highly effective way of communicating directly with both dentists and patients, I was handed overall responsibility for delivering Denplan’s social media strategy, and tasked specifically with growing the number of interactions on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.I also had significant input into, and control over, a comprehensive overhaul of Denplan’s website. I provided the copywriting for a number of key landing pages, including the current homepage.
