During my 17 years as a hands on shareholder and adviser, HH grew to become a highly profitable, £20m revenue healthcare business specialising in community-based delivery of services to the NHS in the specialist areas of dermatology, ophthalmology, gynaecology and minor operations working for numerous Trusts and commissioning bodies.HH was acquired by Medinet, backed by European PE fund Fremman Capital, in February 2024

Cablenet are one of the UK's largest independent distributors of specialist computer and network cabling systems and components.Appointed chair following an investment by Rcapital. After the sale of its branded structured cabling products division, Cablelines, in November 2017 the business de-geared significantly and focused on its range of ~4,000 own brand products. Revenues grew steadily, gross margins improved and EBITDA margins exceeded 10% in 2022 on revenues of almost £10m.Cablenet was successfully sold to a trade buyer in June 2023.

Rainham provides scaffolding and other industrial maintenance services under long term contracts for clients in the power generation, process and manufacturing sectors. It has offices in West Thurrock, Essex, Runcorn and Middlesbrough.In the year to December 2015 Rainham reported an operating loss of £7.2m on revenues of £61m and net debt of £8.3m. In the year to December 2018 Rainham reported an operating profit of £3.2m on revenues of £51m and net debt had fallen to £3.2m: EBITDAE margin had turned round to an industry leading 8.6%.

CET is a provider of specialist services to the infrastructure and insurance markets in the UK. The business was owned by Dunedin Private Equity. In the year to March 2010, CET booked an operating loss of £1.2m on revenues of £12m. In the year to March 2019, CET reported an operating profit of £1.8m on revenues of £45m and underlying EBITDAE of £4.9mCET went through a secondary buyout in November 2018 led by Palatine PE. The turnaround delivered a significant return on original investment to original investors, Dunedin.

Sure provided term maintenance services to social landlords throughout the UK and was owned by Graphite Private EquityIn 2011, Sure reported an operating loss of £1.7m on turnover of £14m for continuing operations. In its last reporting year prior to sale, revenues had increased to £23m generating an operating profit of £0.9m before goodwill amortisation. Bank debt had been eliminated and the group had cash balances of £1,6mSure was sold to Lakehouse PLC - since renamed Sureserve PLC - for initial cash consideration of £6.5m and deferred consideration of up to £2.35m in September 2015
