Working in some of the most beautiful, but extreme and remote locations in the world, I am part of a small and dedicated team that operates a series of incredible self supported, multi-stage ultramarathons. Locations include the Arctic Circle in Northern Sweden, Amazon Jungle in Peru, Deserts of Namibia, Savannas of Kenya... and Barnsley, where our office is!My experience in project, event and safety management all come into action for this role; working alongside the Race Director to design and execute some seriously challenging races built on layers of safety systems and redundancies, and while on the race having the support of a team of medics and local guides to ensure that every runner crosses the finish line safely.Other involvement includes; risk assessment, operating procedures, remote location communications, implementation of GPS Tracking System and web UI, emergency and extraction planning, logistics and resource management, sponsor proposals, database management and more.
