As the IT managing sponsor of the Next Generation Hosting Solutions program at Maxar, I am responsible for leading and directing up to 60 internal and consultant team members in a multi-million capex program to modernize on-prem infrastructure, consolidation of multiple data centers and build out Multi Cloud solutions. My role includes providing strategic direction, program and budget management and oversight to ensure the program is delivered on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. It's a great honor to be entrusted by our CTO, CIO/Sr. VP of IT to delivery this truly transformational program for Maxar, but also for our IT team members and customers. As a direct trusted partner to our CIO/Sr. VP, I am responsible for managing our overall multimillion dollar IT capital budget and contributor and influencer in our IT strategi direction. My primary role is leading and managing the Data Services organization consisting of up to up to 30 internal and consultant team members at Maxar which is focused on designing, developing and 24x7 mission critical operating of our enterprise-wide data services platforms. Our data services support hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue in the commercial and government space industry, with a focus on satellite imagery, satellite manufacturing and management, and space robotics. Maxar Data Services organization consists of: * Database Services, which manages all core platforms and provides Databases-as-a-Service (DBaaS) in AWS to internal platform developers and platform customers. * Elastic Stack Services, which provides log and metric aggregation and analytics services in support of our ground and product delivery systems by means of Elastic Stack/ELK and other technologies in AWS. * Enterprise Data Protection, which provides backup and recovery services by the means of Backup- as-a-Service (BaaS) supported by underlining Commvault technology.

* Lead and managed the Database Services organization that designed and managed relational and NoSQL database platforms supporting our global education systems. I was honored to lead a multi-national team with 40+ extremely talented team members. * Managed footprint of over 2,000 database servers distributed globally in our private cloud and cloud services as in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Supported 35 core platforms, 150 development groups with 1.7 Billion in revenue generated by 65 million learners. * Earned recognition from Microsoft as Top 20 SQL Server operations and “Black Book” partner list. Based on team quality and experience and recognized as #4 in the world for production throughput of average 15 billion transactions per day. * Achieved consistent 99.998 or greater production database availability five years running. * Developed operating model to provide production database services 7x24 with a 2 minute response time SLA and 5 minute mean time to resolution objective. SME for NoSQL technology including MongoDB and Cassandra sitting on Linux Ubuntu and RedHat on AWS and OpenStack within Pearson. * Shepard and guide platform and development teams on the correct database approach to handle data patterns and implementations at scale. * Design authority and architect for Database-As-A-Service (DBaaS) for Pearson. Helping drive the creation of a global database self-service and managed services DBaaS platform that drives mission critical applications for Pearson’s learners.

* Responsible for all aspects of Mortgage and Banking production database systems, performance and availability. Achieved 99.99 uptime and availability SLA’s. Missed SLA’s cost over $1 million per minute. * Held various positions as in Enterprise Database Development Manager, Mortgage Platform Application Development Manager, Application and Production Support Manager, Reporting System Manager, and Operations Manager.* Environment consisting of over 150 Servers and 500 SQL Server and Oracle databases with extremely high performance and availability expectations. * Lead and managed globally distributed team of database system architects, engineering and database operations teams totaling 20 team members. Consisting of multiple sourcing methods including Cognizant and IPSoft sourcing vendors. * Contributed hands-on experience in production technical troubleshooting, performance tuning and incident management to achieve expected SLA’s.* Direct project management over database development, system implementations and system upgrades projects up to 5 million dollars in total cost.* Designed and facilitated new configuration, release, and incident management processes.Directly managed and achieved compliant scores all internal and external audits, including but not limited to GLB, OTS, E&Y and SOX Audits.
