Andrew S. Rosen is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kaplan, Inc., among the world’s largest, most diverse education organizations and the largest subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company (NYSE: GHC) by revenue. He also serves as Executive Vice President of Graham Holdings.Throughout his career, Rosen has helped pioneer much of Kaplan’s innovation and growth, with a focus on student success and outcomes. These include the creation of new blended online and classroom-based learning opportunities for more than a million working professionals, university students and test preparation students in the U.S. and around the world every year.Rosen’s book Change.edu: Rebooting for the New Talent Economy details the history of American higher education and how misaligned incentives have nudged it off course from what America's society and economy requires. He describes how to restore its pre-eminence by focusing on the goals of learning outcomes, access, affordability, and accountability. Before Kaplan, he was an attorney at the Washington Post Company and associate counsel at Newsweek.
