Director/Clinical Director - Allied HealthActive Ltd Apr 2017 - Mar 2020Auckland, New ZealandDuring this period I became an Executive Director of Active+, and was chairperson of the Active Ltd Board. This was a period of consolidation and private equity interest in rehabilitation services in New Zealand, and as part of the board we were able to navigate this turbulent time successfully. This period also included a buy-in from Southern Cross Healthcare Limited, and I played a role as board member and chairperson in communicating and implementing this significant change to the organisation and our providers. In terms of my executive role as Clinical Director - Allied Health, I was responsible for our network of Allied Health providers and performance for a number of contracts in which they participated. These contracts included ACC Vocational Rehabilitation (Stay at Work and Back to Work), Pain Management Service and Clinical Services, amongst others. As well as oversight and responsibility for these services, I was also held responsibility for partner relationships with both the contracting organisations as well as clinical providers. While in this role I successfully participated in having Active+ be involved in an ACC Pain Management Service pilot demo. My biggest success during this however was being part of the team that successfully went through the tender process and co-design to allow Active+ to be one of 6 out of ~90 proposals accepted to be one the providers for the Escalated Care Pathway pilot service, a ground-breaking service for musculoskeletal rehabilitation in NZ. Once successful, I then became Project Lead for this service through development, roll-out and successful launch, through until March 2020. The Active+ version of this service has been praised for its work in ensuring cultural integration, equitable access and innovative marketing. This program included facilitating and fostering partnerships with Māori health providers such as Te Kohao.
