I am an architect and builder with 23 years of experience in the AEC industry. Prior to working at Suffolk Design, I spent 8 years working at Architecture firms in Boston and Providence, and 12 years in the construction industry. This diversity of experience as uniquely positioned me in the AEC industry to operate at the crossroads of design & construction.Suffolk Design is Suffolk’s in-house architecture, engineering, and design management team, fully integrated with operations preconstruction and estimating teams. As architects and engineers working on the builder’s side of the equation, Suffolk Design's team of architects, engineers, and technologists are uniquely positioned to balance design vision with constructability, cost, and schedule goals. Completeness and Constructability reviews are one of the tools available in to help ensure these goals are achieved.Our mission is to enable more predictable and profitable construction outcomes for Suffolk and its clients by delivering builder-informed and builder-ready design documents early. In my role with Suffolk Design, I lead the firm’s overall documentation quality control and quality assurance efforts, and technical forensics. I work closely with our senior directors to develop standard operating procedures and training of staff to perform constructability reviews of third party construction documents. Our reports are used by the operations team at Suffolk Construction and the client during the proposal stage and beyond; raising awareness to the completeness and constructability of the documents.
