That belief has propelled me to be an advocate for skills development at the national and international levels, where I have developed a track record of making change happen.I am an experienced people development strategist with senior-level experience of leading, managing and developing apprenticeships and other work-based learning programs in the US and the United Kingdom. I have extensive experience innovating and evolving performance assessment models and aligning accredited qualifications to business needs, working with funding agencies, industry sector bodies, and policy makers. I am proud to be part of the team at Franklin Apprenticeships, bringing tech apprenticeships at scale to the United States. We partner with companies, ranging from Fortune 500 corporations (30 and counting!) to thriving small businesses, to create and deliver top-quality tech apprenticeship programs. We source diverse talent, deliver the right training at the right time, and coach the apprentice and the employer every step of the way. The Industry Skills Board focuses on bridging the gap between education and employment and provides advice to City & Guilds to ensure that qualifications, services and programmes fully meet the needs of employers and support the transition from full-time education to work.Kirstie Donnelly, UK MD of City & Guilds says: ‘As skills shortages increase across many sectors, there has never been a more critical moment in time to ensure our young people are prepared for the world of work. The Industry Skills Board will influence and ensure the right reforms in apprenticeships take place and more broadly ensure the whole education skills system supports more than one choice for our young people, as well as addressing what employers really need to grow and achieve economic success.’I chair the Board that includes representation from employers such as Barclays, Laing O’Rourke, Nationwide, Whitbread and Microsoft UK as well as a number of employment and skills organisations. My ambition is that the Industry Skills Board will give employers a collective voice and allow us to shape the education agenda by adopting a leadership position.
