Sole accountability and reporting as the Department Head of Profit Protection for the Logistics division covering 30 distribution centres across the UK; a transport fleet in excess of 2000 vehicles and approx. 15,000 colleagues. Key Responsibilities:• Directly reporting into the UK Logistics Director.• National accountability for stock loss and security within logistic division to include all UK supply chain entry points. • 7 direct reports and team of 25 profit protection managers and 375 colleagues.• Operational and budget responsibility for the gatehouse operation at each site, controlling all goods in/out involving an average of 40,000 vehicle movements every week. • Ownership and accountability for a 10 point Balanced Score Card including customer & profit measures.• Accountable for creation and implementation of a robust profit protection strategy across the division. • Budget ownership for annual £10m revenue spend and £2m capex.• Business continuity plans and robust procedures to reduce risks during industrial action or terrorist activity.• Part of Group Profit Protection Leadership Team and direct report to Group Head of Profit Protection.• Direct liaison with Police and Government groups to reduce risk of crime, fraud & terrorist threats.

Part of a small start-up team (4) selected to establish a new Stock Loss department working cross-functionally to understand and then reduce stock loss within the retail division. Key Responsibilities:• Co-created company strategy to measure, control and then reduce Stock Loss to improve profitability models in all divisions.• Created confidence and integrity within Stock Loss reporting systems.• Communicated and rolled out revised stock loss procedures across a geographical zone of 100 stores including Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Full P&L accountability for 2 large, busy supermarkets at Stafford & Nantwich over a 6 year period including experience of major refits, competitor openings at sites with petrol stations, restaurants, concessions, fashion, electricals, homeware and instore bakeries. Key Responsibilities:• Typically £40m annual turnover 15,000 customers per week. • Typically managing 400 colleagues & 25 departmental managers.• Built beneficial relationships with external stakeholders including Environmental Health, local Community Groups, Police, Schools, and local Charities etc.
