My role as account manager is to develop relationships with institutional customers to ensure they derive maximum value from Jisc services and products and to champion their needs and requirements within Jisc.I am part of the Jisc north team with a specialism in Jisc’s research and development activities delivered through the digital futures directorate.

Helping UK Higher Education, Further Education and Skills to use technology more effectively, helping them to manage information more effectively and increase their capacity to focus on value added activities.

This involved managing the Jisc infoNet website on a day to day basis, uploading content relevant to our audience and ensuring the service adhered to specific standards where appropriate. It also included the development of other multimedia tools such as CD-ROMS, DVDs etc.During this role I was also working part-time as a senior adviser supporting where possible ongoing projects within the service. This helped me to adapt my project management skills, understanding of politics and bureaucracy.

In my spare time I'm Co-kickstarter of Purpos/ed. It's a non-partisan, location-independent organisation aiming to kickstart a debate around the question: What’s the purpose of education? With a 3-year plan, a series of campaigns, and a weekly newsletter it aims to empower people to get involved and make a difference in their neighbourhood, area and country.
