Expedia are the largest online travel agent in the world. I managed multiple agile Java development teams working throughout the site, including the checkout and search results pages. SITA develops scalable, real-time, high-availability security applications for the travel industry. My role as Senior Java Developer required me to work on the design and implementation of a feature-rich front end which greatly improved the user experience and speed of information delivery. I worked closely with stakeholders to provide visibility on all elements of the project and monitor requirements and expectations.Achievements:- Successfully delivered a high-performance airport security messaging system within budget and timing constraints- Refactored a complex decision-making system using strict TDD and BDD methodologies. Following the success of this I then went on to coach others in the skills I had employed- Qualified as a Certified Scrum Master

WorkDocX is a large scale, secure SaaS web portal that streamlines and facilitates workforce management and credential handling. I worked in a team of developers refactoring and extending the MVC framework and preparing to meet the demands of clients such as the BBC, Sky and the NHS.Achievements:- Working as a contractor, I quickly fitted comfortably into an established team of developers- Refactored the legacy codebase and increased the test coverage, giving the company a solid level of confidence

Peel Taggart and I founded MXMG in 2000 to provide development, marketing and business services to companies at the time of the dot com boom. MXMG has evolved into a highly respected digital agency specialising in the yachting industry with bases in London, the Cote D'Azur and the Isle of Man.Achievements:- Responsible for the successful execution and delivery of over 50 web projects, many delivered concurrently- Involved with the entire lifecycle of projects, from initial sales contact through inception, development and deployment to support and maintenance.- Established solid long-term relationships with clients- Grew the company into a highly successful operation before leaving in 2010 to pursue other evolving areas of IT

Dell started selling computers through its website in 1996 and by 1998 it was one of the biggest, most innovative, mission-critical sites in the world. This was a very exciting time to learn about web development and gave me a very solid grounding for my career from this point onwards. I worked as part of a C++ development team creating and evolving the site and gaining experience in dealing with large scale, high availability web applications.

Working as part of a small team, I developed software for financial leasing and car showrooms. I also worked on an early thin-client intranet system using ASP, Visual Basic and MS SQL.Achievements:- Gained commercial experience on a wide variety of programming languages, operating systems, databases and other technologies through several successful projects - Learned customer-facing skills on a number of client-site projects- Began to develop an interest in building teams and the required interpersonal skills
