Leverage computational skills in highly creative ways to support all design and engineering studios across the office in a wide variety of design investigations, ranging in scale from the object to the building to the city, and ranging in ambition from the automation of tedious tasks to the search for high performance design solutions to the capture of institutional design knowledge.Work very closely with architectural and urban design teams to understand the nature of specific design problems and then quickly develops computational tools that can be used to help solve those problemsLeverage coding skills to develop tools that enable the automated exchange of data amongst various modeling and simulation software programsCreate optimization frameworks that enable automated searches for well-performing design solutions with respect to a variety of performance objectives, including structural, environmental, economic, and social.Create models of complex systems (architectural and urban) to enable effective design interrogations and scenario testing.Split time between project-chargeable work and longer-term research oriented computational initiatives that can be developed incrementally over the course of multiple projects (in collaboration with other computational designers in the office) and applied broadly to many different types of design problems
