I am a general management executive with a zeal for, and excellent track record in, coordinating IT projects from start to finish and growing companies. Business managementI have done everything from business concept development, to incorporating, to raising capital, to starting businesses, to generating rapid income growth to selling to both public and private companies. I certainly have not done everything right, but I learned a lot and strive to make only new mistakes. Growing a businesses is great fun in part because it involves understanding and dealing with all aspects of the business, but I am definitely not a “lone ranger”. It is only fun when done with other committed leaders who are excited about the possibilities. While I am comfortable with the limelight, I am at least as happy to work in the background to make an organization succeed. A quote I read recently that fits my view says, “To succeed, find someone who has a goal you believe in and then help them reach it.”IT DevelopmentHere is an example of a successful IT project I initiated. Video Symphony needed a good way to track information on employees, prospects and students. Since we didn’t find anything publicly available to meet our needs (we tried Salesforce, but it didn’t work for us) I initiated and led the development and deployment of our own Web-based CRM. This system not only provided the core for running the company, but integrated with at least 9 other software/hardware products via HTTP Post, API, embedded windows, or custom code. This was done in an Agile environment with typical 1 to 2 week delivery times.I have a BS in Physics and Mathematics from VA Tech and an MBA from Harvard.
