This also improved data quality and reduced the data collection lag from 7 weeks to 15 days• Development of a unit cost system for public prisons: created the unit cost model, collected, collated and matched large data sets from different sources (finance, HR, operational) and designed the management information reports to be used by managers.• Development of Business Intelligence improvement model: demonstrated that Qlikview could be used by NOMS to provide BI for managers using all available data for minimal cost. The first examples included the provision of offender location maps and information to assist probation trusts in understanding their future workload, and a tool to estimate the risk of the recession impacting on employment targets.Key Achievement: Delivered a working demonstration model that made more use of the data available to NOMS – this was delivered on time (6 months) for a budget of £33k.
