Operational ownership focused on optimizing the performance of Cox Mobile’s operations with a data-driven approach. This includes managing the data, analysis, measurement and the entire suite of reporting for Cox Mobile. Led identification of areas for measurable operational improvement, improved customer experience, reduced customer and front-line friction points and implementation of changes to drive increased efficiency and profitability. These improvements resulted in decreased churn and buyer's remorse rates for the MVNO.

Key leader in the strategic assessment to re-enter the wireless line of business. Evaluated options for re-entry as well as strategic, operational and financial considerations. In this role I am leading the entire Cox Mobile program and prepared the company for national launch. We orchestrated the overall planning, cross-functional coordination, build-out and risk management in a true start-up and virtual environment. Our team also designed the change management required for the entire enterprise to educate and prepare our employee base for this new venture. This is a highly cross-functional role, affecting nearly every organization within Cox Communications. Additionally, my team stood up the entire analytics function for this new line of business - responsible for creating an efficient and best-in-class data model, architecture and ensuring the proper measurements are in place with enough flexibility to manage the business on an advanced analytics level.

As the Executive Director, Enterprise Portfolio Management, I created the company’s definitive program and portfolio management methodologies for and delivery execution of $2 billion of Cox’s most complex, transformational strategic initiatives. My main objective in this role was to provide transparency, consistency and predictability into the delivery of this portfolio, resulting in increased efficiency in capital spend. Accordingly, I hired and built the team responsible for these initiatives and together we created a shared services center of excellence for program governance and delivery. This role has presented a unique opportunity to leverage both my financial and operational background.

I coordinated all aspects of the $1 billion program to develop and launch wireless into Cox’s footprint, covering an addressable market of over 10 million people. The Cox Wireless initiative was developed in a start-up environment and encompassed the network buildout, MVNO deployment, billing/CRM integration, retail buildout, supply chain establishment and device/accessory portfolio management. In addition, my team was responsible for all aspects of market deployment and launch readiness across all cross-functional teams. My team also designed and analyzed the operational KPIs to measure product and operational effectiveness. This program resulted in 10 MVNO market deployments and 2 network market buildouts.

In this role, I performed due diligence, strategic analysis, economic modeling, and program management for Cox’s entry into the wireless industry. I analyzed various alternative business models - including joint venture partnerships, acquisitions, wholesale partnerships, and network buildouts, making recommendations to executive management on profitability and financial impact of potential courses of action. I participated in the strategic planning process to assess financial viability of multiple strategic wireless opportunities and represented Cox in joint ventures with Comcast and Time Warner Cable. With a budget in the hundreds of millions, I monitored and directed financial processes, overseeing capital planning and accounting for all wireless initiatives. I also led the financial and operational aspects of the joint venture between cable and Sprint as resellers to test the integration of Sprint wireless products into the cable core products, managing the launch into the marketplace and ensuring processes were in place to meet all internal deadlines and objectives.

I managed financial processes for the Strategy and Product Management department, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, general accounting, and analysis of discounted cash flow models for roll out of new products and future business opportunities, including VoIP and other high-speed Internet offerings. Overseeing annual budgeting for all Atlanta-based Cox High Speed Internet and Cox Digital Telephone operations, I established a centralized functional business unit to consolidate strategic and operational objectives and generate substantial financial savings for the digital telephony product.

While Cox was still a public entity, I composed SEC filings associated with Cox’s quarterly and annual financials as well as its $10 billion acquisitions and associated debt instruments. In addition, I authored and researched corporate accounting policies.
