I started out developing the Booking Boss platform in our garage in North Sydney. I successfully developing an initial concept into a fully functioning and highly ambitious activity, tour and attraction management system, I then proceeded as the CTO, to take Australia by storm and disrupt the leisure industry. In this capacity, I:- Recruited and worked with some of Australia’s most talented developers.- Managed all aspects of product development including investments, marketing, pitches and deck creation.- Delivered a world class management system that won multiple industry awards for innovative technology evangelism.- Managed and oversaw systems, data and payment compliance.- Negotiated and secured the profitable acquisition of the company by a major competitor.Post acquisition of Booking Boss in 2018, Andy was positioned as the CTO of the acquiring entity, Helix Leisure. In this capacity, I:- Rapidly identified the key business areas that were hampering growth and engaged stakeholders in exploring innovative technology solutions.- Developed a new hiring plan to attract talent and trained/coached/mentored key employees to promote energy and enthusiasm around change.- Reduced the attrition rate and significantly improved employee engagement and retention.Within 12 months of the appointment, I had successfully reduced costs, restructured teams, introduced 12 new features for global distribution, reduced the time to market, shaken up the work culture- encouraging participation and inclusion, reduced the time to market and negotiated strategies which opened up new revenue streams.
