CurrentAs founder, CEO, and board member, Andy leads the nonprofit corporation that created a vibrant campus on 10 acres on the west side of Chicago that had been vacant for 40 years. He founded the charitable 501c3 with the mission of providing a safe, professional-level sports destination and programming in sports, wellness, education, and the arts for under-resourced communities in Chicago. Leveraging world-class spaces, a professional staff, and sports science/technology, Intentional serves roughly 2000 kids a week and hosts 250,000 visitors a year. The goal is simple – provide positive activities that kids can fall in love with every day after school. Andy led fundraising conversations to raise ~$37MM of the $41MM total cost to design and build a 152,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor community sports center. Partnered with other nonprofit organizations to serve Chicago youth, such as After School Matters, Urban Initiatives, Special Olympics, Top Soccer, Travis Manion Foundation, Owls Lacrosse, Beat the Streets Wrestling, La Casa Norte, and many more. Andy leads a Board of Directors that includes US Soccer Hall of Famers, CEOs, and Professional Sports Executives who share a vision of leveraging sports to create positive change. Negotiated deals with champion partners, including Wintrust Bank, Pepsi, Gatorade, Riot Games, the Chicago Fire, Bears, Cubs, the City of Chicago, and CPS Schools, among others. Currently fundraising and operating an annual budget of $2.5MM.
