My own business, sole employee. Developed the “Chronologica” software product for animating historical events on a world map (educational/presentation software).Projects• DivConq Framework: combine power and flexibility of MUMPS (noSQL) database with the ubiquity of Java to develop enterprise quality software.• Chronologica: animated, fully interactive world map that changes over time to reflect the world (political entities, cities, wars, explorers, etc) at any given second of history. User may choose to jump to any date (as general as a year or as specific as a second in a day of some year) or the user may choose a “play” and watch changes unfold in front of them. Software developed in Delphi and utilizes XML heavily• Data Conversion: various data conversion utilities were written in .Net/C# and used XML and XSLT heavily.• Chronologica II: porting the application, prototypes created in both Java and C#.

As a consulting company we have a great variety in the software solutions we provide to our customers. Often a solution must be highly customized to the specific needs of a customer. When not working on a specific customer project, I am developing the platform and major components for use in our future custom software solutions.

I take professional web site designs, such as those by Sandhill Studio, and turn them into web pages.

Joined Ipswitch as part of the acquisition of Standard Networks. Continued some of the projects from that job. Moved into a thorough analysis and planning cycle for the next generation of file transfer software.

My own business, sole employee. My specialty was developing dynamic websites using PHP and MySQL. I developed about 8 large web sites with specialized content management systems. Also completed many medium to small web projects. Ran a small hosting service for a couple of years also.

Developing the managed file transfer product line. Coding in C# and some VB.NET. Also using fair amount of XML and SQL.Projects• SQL Server Inclusion: lead developer adding SQL Server support to the mature code base developed around MySQL. There were over 2500 SQL statements in the VB.NET code and hundreds of them used MySQL specific features. I successfully included SQLServer support with a minimal impact on the product code base.• Web Farm Deployment: lead developer adding support to enable web farm style deployment for the product. The product had been designed around a single active node. I successfully refactored the database and application logic to accommodate the new deployment model.

Instructed returning students in the latest web technologies. Co-authored the Internet Developers Certificate offered through MATC's math department. Developed medical records software and accompanying task list module. The software uses the client/server software model, utilizing Microsoft Windows and VB for the client and M/Caché on Unix for the server. This job required good communication skills with other developers and the ability to perform customer training and support.Projects• Sales Database: software used by the marketing team to track and manage sales contacts. I was the sole developer of the first version. Written using VB, HTML, CSS, Javascript and M/Caché• Task Lists: software used in a clinical setting to track unfinished charting, medication requests, patient appointments, results of lab tests and many other functions. These tasks lists were very complex and required great flexibility. I was the primary (~90%) developer of the project, including the conversion from 16 bit to 32 bit, and the conversion to a web based version. Written using VB, M/Caché, ASP, CSS, HTML• Release Utilities: Developed a substantial (~75%) portion of the install and conversion utilities used for installing upgrades to Epic’s database server software. Written in M/Caché.• EpicCare: One of the original team of developers of Epic's highly successful and lucrative clinical medical records software. Written using VB and M/Caché.• Development Logging: software to track changes to the software, to assist with moving changes into test environments, quality assurance tracking. Developed a program that calculates the best rations to feed a horse based on age, weight, sex and on work levels. The program was a success and is being sold in conjunction with a horse nutrition CD ROM.

Created a program for viewing and scanning (TWAIN) multi-page TIFF images in 16 bit Windows, including features that supported zooming and scrolling large images quickly.

I was the sole developer on a project for graphing stock data. This DOS program contained over 20,000 lines of C code and required extensive work with VGA graphics. The program was event driven, mouse input and included modern features like drop down menus andmovable windows. The entire project was successfully completed that summer.
