Business Development - Owner, Cosy Bean Coffee Lounge January 2013 - PresentBased in Marlborough, the Cosy Bean Coffee Lounge is independently owned by myself and my partner. Our dream was to design a coffee lounge environment that was welcoming, comfortable and affordable, all of which we have successfully achieved. During the past 2 years I have:• Written a robust business plan• Carried out extensive research and sourced an available unit in a prime position, successfully negotiated a reduction in the rent and a 3 month free period• Carried out shop fitting activities, both personally and with the help of local workmen• Managed and kept within budget for the shop fitting and sourcing of furniture and equipment • Negotiated pricing with suppliers to ensure we offer quality products at an affordable price for both the business and our customers• Delivered well beyond expectations on the business plan, making a profit at week 4 , 8 months earlier than forecast• Achieved a level 5 Food Hygiene award – recruited and trained staff in this respect to ensure all standards are met• Became No 1 Café in the area on Trip Advisor within weeks of opening, and have successfully maintained this position to date• Adapted our menu and range of products according to customer feedback and innovative ideas to be unique in Marlborough• Managed the day to day activities in the coffee lounge, produced and regularly analysed a P&L, managed all daily and monthly cash and bank accounts and carried out regular competitor visits to ensure that we maintain our popular position in the town.

Dollar Financial UK – The Money Shop: 2002 to Dec 2012Dollar Financial UK is a leading diversified financial services provider with 1500 retail stores worldwide. The Money Shop is the UK’s number one instant cash provider with 570 stores and 1700 staff in the UK Director of Regional Operations – South West Region July 2011 to Dec 2012 • Leading the South-West Region, 85 stores, 350 staff and a support team of 8 District Managers, Regional HR Business Partner, Regional Pawnbroking Development Manager, Regional Trainer and Regional Administrator.• Responsible for a £25 million revenue budget which has been achieved each year.• Successfully achieved growth numbers year on year of 30% through the motivational management, development and coaching of District Managers, and by supporting them with the management of the store teams as required• Managing the full accountability of a regional profit and loss statement to ensure that revenue was maximised whilst operating costs were managed to ensure that the region produced a profitable EBITDA • Pivotal in sourcing and opening 15 new stores throughout the South-West which included the company’s first roll out into Devon and Cornwall. • Instrumental in ensuring new stores opened with an average payback of 8 months, well within the company new store model of 15 months. • Successfully managed the acquisitions of new businesses in line with company expectations which included 2 franchise stores and 5 stores from a major competitor. • Rolled out an extensive range of new products as they were introduced by the business with a clear focused SMART plan for implementation across the region. • Managing and maintaining a clear FTE structure across the region taking into account the grade of store whilst keeping salary cost under control.• Coaching and supporting direct reports in performance management of employees, resulting in improved performance or the dismissal of under performers

Regional Operations Manager – South, Scotland and Northern Ireland 2009 to 2011Responsible for the South of England, South Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.• Lead the South, Scotland and Northern Ireland Region, 73 stores, 320 staff and a support team of 7 District Managers, Regional HR Business Partner, Regional Pawnbroking Development Manager, Regional Trainer and Regional Administrator.• Responsible for a £18 million revenue budget which has been achieved each year.• Successfully achieved growth numbers year on year of 25%• Managed the full accountability of a regional profit and loss statement to ensure that revenue was maximised whilst operating costs were managed to ensure that the region produced a profitable EBITDA performance year on year.• Successfully acquired the largest pawnbrokers in Scotland, Robert Biggars (Glasgow) and Duncanson & Edwards (Edinburgh), with all staff successfully being TUPEd to The Money Shop. Biggars is now a brand which Dollar Financial are rolling out across the country in niche locations.• Sourced 20 new stores which successfully opened with an average payback of 13 months, well within the company new store model of 18 months. • Pivotal in managing the acquisition of businesses in line with company expectations in Northern Ireland which continued to trade effectively and grew their businesses year on year by way of the introduction of Money Shop products and by motivating the TUPEd staff to accept change• Successfully rolled out across the region new products, as they were introduced by the business, with a clear focused SMART plan for implementation across the region. • Managed and maintained a clear FTE structure across the region which suited grade of store, but kept salary cost under control.• Achieved the Dollar Financial Leaders Guild Global Winner award FY11 for outstanding performance against pre-set KPIs

Operations Development Manager 2004 to 2009• Responsible for effectively delivering all communication and operational practises for the entire UK chain of Dollar Financial.• Introduced into Dollar UK an effective communication framework via OPUS (Operational Product Update Sheet) and WCR (Weekly Communications Report), which was communicated to all levels of the business.• Developed and rolled out across the chain of stores a fully detailed store filing system (EZI Filing System)• Developed a store daily planning document (EZI Store Guide) which was rolled out across the chain.• Instrumental stake holder in developing a Customer for Life program, which included developing formal roll-out training programs to all levels of the business, producing a Customer for Life business folder outlining every key metric for sourcing new customers, retaining existing customers and re-activating lapsed customers. This has since been rolled out across Canada and US parts of the business. • Introduced a scheme to collect ideas from the field called ‘My Idea’, which helped to generate new procedures / processes, eased ‘buy-in’ from store staff meaning execution was delivered across the network easier and any idea that was introduced into the business gained a reward for the introducer.• Regular communication with Managing Director and all other Directors of the business and Head of Departments in order to maintain understanding of business growth, product analysis, new developments, infrastructure, and IT which allowed me then to communicate the required messages and introduce new concepts throughout the business in a timely manner.• Played a major role in all key governance groups and attended all meetings with key stake holders to map out the continued growth and profitability of the company. Governance groups included Management Business Review (MBR), Property, IT, Operations, HR & People, Marketing and Debt Recovery.
