Senior Business Design Analyst (Contractor)

Northampton, United Kingdom And Hamburg, Germany

Flagship Agile programme with the goal to set the standards for Agile delivery, ways of working and continuous delivery and improvement.Working with a ThoughtWorks development team based in the UK and India, and 2 other Business Analysts, I designed the first 100% digital unsecured lending solution for the German market. The new solution and process reduced the application time from start to release of funds from 14 days to under 24 hours. This implementation and design was marketing leading and disruptive within the German loans market. Working as part of the ‘4 Amigos’ consisting of Analyst, UI Design, Development, and QA/Testing representatives we walked through the business goals so that the right level of user stories could be identified and created. These sessions where completed ‘just-in-time’ to ensure a steady development backlog and to ensure the user stories did not become out-of-date.Successfully re-designed the proposed online application process to switch from a standard credit assessment check to utilising a Third-party bank account check to assess the customer’s income and expenditure to determine loan affordability and credit risk. This re-design and API implementation was completed within a three-month window ensuring the target Live date was successfully achieved. Due to the marketing leading and disruptive nature of the new 100% digital application I met with Check24, the leading German comparison web site, in Munich to design and integrate the capability within their online loans application process. The project was the leading agile project within Barclaycard UK achieving weekly releases providing continuous delivery and improvements. This was recognised by the Programme winning the Barclaycard 2016 Agile Project of the Year.
