This part time role is driving the development of the Institute for Outdoor Learning to deliver its primary objects of promoting best practice in outdoor learning, increasing access to outdoor learning experiences and supporting safe practice.

Responsible for the management and co-leadership of a division of c. 200 fee-earners and c.40 partners delivering legal services from offices in London, Leeds and Manchester, with a turnover in excess of £50m (c. 30% of the firm’s income). Specific responsibilities included development of strategy and business plans, partner performance management, remuneration and succession planning, chairing of divisional executive management team, management of finance, business development and HR support functions, development of scoping, costing and pricing, coaching support to partners in client, finance and people management and firm-wide Partner and Senior Associate development activity.Key Achievements : Successful integration of two operational fee-earning divisions during the merger of Addleshaw Booth & Co and Theodore Goddard in 2003. Establishment of a ‘one team model’ across three offices enabling the firm to offer an unrivalled combination of capacity, quality and value to the national market. Development and delivery of a 3 module Financial Management course for the firm-wide Partner Development Programme.

Specific responsibilities include identification of training needs to support the business plan, preparation of an annual training plan and budget, design and delivery of skills training and team development for all staff, management of legal training, the assessment and development of trainees, supporting general selection and recruitment.Key Achievements : Project managed the office reaching Investors in People accreditation.Designed and delivered a management training programme for legal and support managers. Established a peer group of senior fee-earners to provide management support for Partners.Designed and implemented a comprehensive training evaluation system.

Responsible for the management of a training team, delivering a wide variety of management and personal development programmes across the UK. Specific responsibilities included management of programme resourcing and costing, development of training and client management skills, management of own client portfolio and design and delivery of bespoke training solutions.Key Achievements : Design and implementation of an organisational training policy to support achievement of Investors in People status. Introduction of a structured client development programme. Development of a range of externally accredited training programmes, including NEBSM, NLP Diploma and NVQ Key Skills.
