Developed perl toolset to traverse an unidentified tape backup format. Using binary headers, filename extensions and resource forks, I performed best-effort cataloging by file type, the files in turn were handed over to traditional filetype-specific parsers. The system required full egress/ingress accounting as it was submitted as evidence in a civil suit. This work resulted in a large intellectual property case award for our client (one of the largest ever awarded for a patent infringement/ip case).
