Andrew Yim has been in the healthcare analytics industry for over 15 years, initially starting as a software engineer developing a flagship Healthcare Analytic Decision Support System for at the time Thomson Reuters. Several key experiences from this time were focused on business intelligence integration, OLAP cubes, automation and continuous integration (DevOps), data modeling, PL/SQL, and Java software engineering. Designing solutions to complex problems and architecture of long-term solutions for critical system applications was part of everyday life. After 4 1/2 years working in enterprise application development, Andrew seamlessly transitioned into a pre-sales role with Truven Health Analytics, focused on State & Local Government Enterprise Data Warehouse and Analytics opportunities. Here he developed key experiences in RFx procurement opportunities, understanding the capture process, working with sales and marketing on messaging, and presenting at conferences (MESC), including writing white papers and providing thought leadership in the space.In 2018 IBM Watson Health completed the purchase of Truven Health, where Andrew led and managed the Solution Architecture practice for Government Health and Human Services for five years. Managing a team of seven Solution Architects, Andrew and team drove innovation in the marketplace, drawing on his experience as a software engineer to develop new capabilities. Andrew was a key contributor to the development of new offerings and go-to-market strategy and collaboration with cross-functional teams on strategic approach.Now at SAS, Andrew is focused on consulting government health and human services agencies on maximizing their data's value, leveraging the SAS platform's power to deliver end-to-end across the analytics life-cycle, and protecting and improving the lives of our most vulnerable populations.
