Pragathi is a cloud-native multilingual strategic digital platform that creates an ecosystem for different governmental and nonprofit entities, inside and outside India, that are engaged in public health services. By providing a set of standard tools, data sharing, and patient EMR (Electronic Medical Record), the platform creates synergies to optimize public health services in rural areas.As the team lead, I am leading a team of student interns to build the microservices for patient EMR (Electronic Medical Records), Appointment Scheduling, and Calendar management for the first release of the platform.

Project: Data Analysis for Sustainability for Intel CorporationSummary: I analyzed data from multiple sources, such as total energy capacity, percentage of renewable energy, and consumption, at different regions in the US to recommend the optimal location for a new data center. I created interactive dashboards with bar charts, dual-axis plots, and line charts to analyze energy production, demand, renewable energy sources, and energy breakdown by region.Tech Stack: TableauProject: Website Audience Analysis for The Recording CompanySummary: The Recording Academy had refactored their original website for grammy.com and created the recordingacademy.com to serve the Recording Academy’s audience needs, transitioning the grammy.com website to only host content for Grammys. My project was to determine the impact on user engagement. I analyzed clickstream and user activity data from the original grammy.com website and the new refactored websites to conclude that user engagement improved on the new sites. I created multiple dashboards and pivot tables and conducted A/B testing to demonstrate the trends. Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel

Project: Data as a service: DaaS is a strategic low-code platform initiative that treats data as first-class objects and abstracts the implementation and access details of how data is stored, linked, or managed. This unconventional approach involves functional microservices accessing data through a set of Data services that own and manage data access and persistence. The system has code generators that take a schema consisting of all the entities, indices, data operations, and details of the underlying DBMS (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, etc.) and generate the code for the Data Services. Although my project focused on the RDBMS model, the DaaS platform also had code generators for DynamoDB, S3, etc.Tech Stack: Java, PostgreSQL, JDBC, MyBatis, Apache Freemarker Project: AI-based video stream analyzer and classifier for actionable Events to drive contextual commerce, advertisement, and interactive contentSummary: During my summer internship, I led a team of interns under the guidance of the Chief Architect in developing a video stream analyzer and classifier that extracts actionable events from the video stream and uses them to drive contextual merchandising, advertisement, sports betting, and other interactive content. The project utilized advanced Natural Language Processing techniques, including Named Entity Recognition and Zero-Shot Classification. Project: Voice-Enabled Personal Assistant Framework for MicroappsSummary: I led a team of summer interns under the guidance of a lead engineer to build a voice assistant framework for an interactive media application focused on sports betting, contextual commerce, and shoppable advertisement. We leveraged Natural Language Processing and Named Entity Recognition. Tech Stack: React native in the front-end, with the react-speech-recognition and @nlpjs Node.js libraries in the backend

Homelessness is a growing problem across the world and this trend has recently accelerated due to the job losses caused by Covid-19. National statistics reveal that homelessness and poverty have a disproportionate impact on minorities, women and the elderly. ShelterGuide is a digital phone app that connects homeless people with all the other stakeholders like shelters, soup kitchens, libraries, public health clinics, etc. that are involved in addressing the issue of homelessness and also serving the homeless populations in their cities and districts.We were motivated by the findings in the paper, “3 High-Impact Ways Technology Can Help Combat Homelessness” by Amy Guterman and the following specific recommendations on how technology can help mitigate the issue of homelessness:1. Create a connected experience where homeless people can use the social connections to seek support and services from the providers2. Improve findability of available housing and human services in an environment that is unreliable and mostly manual process for a homeless person.3. Capture and leverage data to inform success through analytics for the service providers and government agencies.
