At Skin Omics Lab, setup under the aegis of Wound Care Innovation for the Tropics Programme, I focus on the identification of proteomic and metabolomic biomarkers for early interception of non-healing chronic wounds in the Asian population. One of the largest prospective, longitudinal wound studies profiling 250+ patients, 2000+ samples, initiated in collaboration with 5 Hospitals in Singapore. I also drive 4 collaborative projects with other scientists in A*SRL that address their metabolomics research needs. I've developed targeted metabolomics methods for ceramides, polyamines, TCA intermediates in plasma and skin tissue.

Discovery of novel biomarkers for human cell line activation test (h-CLAT; OECD: Test No. 442E) for detection of chemical skin sensitisers. 1. Established h-CLAT in house using flow cytometry according to OECD regulations. 2. Discovered and validated 5 novel biomarkers such as CD109, CD181, CD183, CLEC5A, TREM1 with improved assay sensitivity. Technical Skills - Multiparameter Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Laboratory animal handling according to IACUC guidelines.

Thesis: Role of cytochrome P4502J2 (CYP2J2) in cardiovascular disease. 1. Discovered that irreversible inhibition of cardiac CYP2J2 leads to altered lipid metabolism and worsens cardiotoxicity of antiarrhythmic drug, dronedarone. 2. Designed and developed novel, deuterated analogue of dronedarone devoid of in vivo cardiovascular adverse effects but with preserved in vivo ADME properties. *Patent filed and approved in 2021*
