I am a passionate, analytical, tenacious, resourceful, and curious policy analyst and program evaluator with a love for research and learning more about the issues that affect our world today. I have a particular interest in the policy areas of immigration and refugees, Indigenous affairs, corrections, the environment, and health.Through volunteering for organizations concerned with developmental disabilities in children and youth; seniors and long-term care; the rehabilitation of recently released inmates and at-risk youth; Indigenous issues in Canada; gender and diversity; global affairs; as well as settlement and integration services for refugees I have developed a high degree of emotional intelligence, compassion, as well as a commitment to work towards a more just and equal world. As a Master of Public Policy, I have been able to fine-tune the skills required to work in public policy and reach my long-term goals. With both qualitative and quantitative training in program evaluation, economics, statistics, public finance as well as a number of courses on governance and institutions, the policy process, immigration, Indigenous affairs, and comparative public policy I am equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for a career in public policy and research. My undergraduate degree in Global Development Studies and Political Science has also given me the foundation I need to think critically about the world, write persuasively, and think outside the box.

I worked for the Operations Planning and Performance Branch of IRCC in the Data Analysis, Reporting and Targets Division. My work was primarily centered around Family Class and Express Entry, with further experience in economic pilot programs, the TR-PR Pathway, and Quebec lines of business.Within this role, I gained skills in quantitative analysis, as well as oral and written communication. I worked with data daily, whether it was creating a new dataset on Cognos IBM, cleaning and manipulating data, or creating visualizations for data on Microsoft Excel. As well, I presented monthly to partners including provinces and territories, and other branches of IRCC to discuss data and research on migration trends. Furthermore, I provided input, data, and analysis on a variety of cabinet documents including Memoranda to Cabinet, Question Period Notes, and back pocket reports for the Committee of the Whole. Personal passion projects outside of my immediate role included leading events for the IRCC Women's Network, and contributing as a member to the Racialized Employees Network and GBA+ Working Group.

During my time at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) I worked in the Evaluation, Performance Measurement and Review Branch. As a Research Officer, I focused on evaluating, analyzing, and providing recommendations for the improvement of current policies and programs in place surrounding Indigenous affairs in Canada. This was mainly done through qualitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups, case studies, jurisdictional scans, as well as literature and document reviews. The areas I have worked on within Indigenous policy include public health, Indigenous governance structures, treaty rights, land claims, as well as service delivery. All evaluations are conducted with a focus on building nation-to-nation relationships, moving towards reconciliation, and the promotion of Indigenous self-determination and self-governance. Additionally, evaluations are conducted through a GBA+ lens; accounting for potential differences in outcome due to gender, sexual orientation, and identity.
