Commercial Designer, CarpetsMy name is Ane; I am a designer, working for Dansk Wilton for the past 10 years. I have more than 15 years' experience in designing for Domestic and Contract markets.Most of these years in contract carpets but also in printed textiles, graphic design and product design.In my experience no two projects are ever completely the same. I work with customers and projects all over the world: All with different end users, different scope, different culture, and different aesthetics.It has always been important for me, that what I do meets a purpose. I love designing professionally and for commercial use.I have a master’s degree in Industrial Textile Design from Designskolen Kolding, Denmark. In my work I have found that the textiles are only rarely the end goal. Textiles need a scene: A window, a room, a dress, a chair to be their full potential. This has over the years led me into other design fields - through education and through co-operation with other designers. Though designing textiles have been my main profession, I have also worked professionally with graphic design, product design, web design and marketing.I work as a designer at Dansk Wilton, specializing in custom design solutions.Dansk Wilton produces high-end carpets for luxury hotels and cruise ships. All projects are unique and all design solutions are custom made. It is a niche in which designing is not so much a question of personal taste as it is a question of understanding the customers’ needs and the location in question and transforming that into inspiring designs. Adaptability is important and so is the ability to work with different customers, interior decorators and architects all over the world.
