Project Director
CurrentIn addition to my general duties as a Director, I have also taken on the role of Project Director. This decision was prompted by my encounters with implementation of solutions, which I found to be seriously lacking. It is futile providing the ultimate product or solution without the necessary Milestones, Benchmarks and Quality Assurance to ensure the intended and desired outcomes. Our philosophy is to follow the basic steps in Project Management to ensure outcomes that Meet and Exceed Customer Expectations: 1) Carry out a Project Review to Verify and Validate the effectiveness of the project (Have we delivered what we promised? Have we met and/or exceeded the customer's expectation? ). 2) Track the project effectively and take steps to bring the project back on track. 3) Source the right product at the right price (market-related). 4) Maintain a Dashboard of projects that were running simultaneously and provide appropriate feedback to all stakeholders.5) Co-ordination and synchronisation between contractors to alleviate the "broken telephone" syndrome.6) Supplier management in its broadest sense, right down to the details to ensure sustainability of projects. To my advantage, I have the benefit of my project related skills in the form of Value Engineering, Six-Sigma, LEAN, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, Value-Chain- Analysis, Commercialisation, Stages and Gates, Process Monitoring and Control, ANOVA, Pareto Analysis,Value Stream Mapping, Kanban,Visual Management, Standardized Work (PMCS), Poka-Yoke (error proofing), Value / Non-Value Add Analysis.I can safely say that I finally have finally found my calling in life, by having the opportunity to lead Organisational Change Management through PM (an end-to-end solution, with Integrity).
