Passionate about instructing and performing traditional African music and dance, studying and teaching African literature, as well as research around knowledge production and cultural exchanges. Teaches ESL reading, speaking and writing skills in Zimbabwe using Afro-centered and Afro-conscious methods and materials. Explores new and innovative ways of teaching, making and contextualizing African music, striving to remain true its qualities while expanding its domains of use and performance. Currently working in the education sector to bridge the gap between African music and classroom spaces in Zimbabwe, while also working on creating accessible music learning for young people in Zimbabwe.
