As refinery economist I am optimizing the output of the Fredericia Refinery to optimize the revenue. I am using my technical knowledge to create value and provide guidelines to place the right molecule the right place. - Providing economical stear by using linear programming. - Optimize products and make new product portfolios for the customer on demand. - Challenge unit operation and optimization of these.- Analyzing and challenging internal procedures to optimize revenue. - Active part in developing long term strategies. Summarized I am modelling the future to support business decisions, both short terms (maximisation of value-added) and long term (profitable investments) and I am translating refinery technology/capabilities in value.

I have had several roles regarding scheduling and planning:- Crude oil planning from the North Sea into the refinery and product scheduling for all products going out of the refinery (LPG, gasoline, avtur, gasoil, fuel oil). - Jetty planning and pipeline planning - Planning of units and modes to optimize product quality and quantity. The challenging part of the job:- Challenge constraints in daily work and act as problem solver when hitting new constraints. - Handle abnormal problems and make sure the costumer get the right product at the right time.- Problem handling and -solving in urgent situations. Economic perspective and commercial mindset:- Bring economical perspective to daily optimization and projects.- Responsible for development projects, e.g. blend optimization to make sure products are fulfilling the specifications and maximize the margin at the same time. - Challenge and understand possibilities and constraints regarding new products. This is driven by development in the marked and changing demand from the costumers.
