After welcoming her first child, Angel is taking time away from her field to be a full-time parent. She looks forward to one day returning to her field with the perspective and experiences she will gain through motherhood.Angel previously held a position as a Community Based Therapist at National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP). She graduated with her Master of Social Work in 2021 at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She previously worked at a behavioral health hospital providing intake services after she graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work in 2019 from UNCW. Angel has worked with several populations including children, adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, behavioral health and substance use disorders as well as individuals who have experienced domestic violence and abuse & neglect. She also has completed several diverse population trainings, such as LGBTQ+, POC, & low socioeconomic status, to ensure that every individual feels safe and accepted.Angel’s main therapeutic goal was to provide a safe and empowering environment for those needing healing, peace, or just someone to listen. Angel used cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, and a strengths-based approach to walk alongside her clients and encourage them throughout their journey. She believes that every person has everything they need inside themselves and is passionate about empowering her clients to see their true capability.After working as a therapist, Angel switched roles in 2022 to encourage and empower her community on a macro level through graphic design and marketing.
