Engaged with authors to develop manuscripts, research relevant background, recommend revisions to content, and edit as necessary to ensure accuracy and readability of content. Oversaw external peer review of manuscripts by soliciting and weighing evaluations by researchers, and decided whether to publish or reject manuscripts based on editorial and reviewer input. Identified timely review topics, and commissioned articles from leading researchers in diverse scientific fields. Wrote short overviews highlighting recently published literature. Wrote and conducted “PaperClip” interviews with authors for the Cell website. Fostered relationships with the broad scientific community through attending scientific conferences and one-on-one meetings with primary investigators at institutions including Harvard, MIT, CSHL, Stanford, Berkeley, Yale, Columbia, Rockefeller, and Genentech.
