Wife, Mother, Grandma, TeeTee, girlfriend or side chic regardless of the title, you are one of a kind, a special being. You are a woman. Since Eve, women have been the indestructible thread that holds together the fabric of every society known to man. Come what may, we continue to nurture. Through physical pain, we continue. Through mental and emotional turmoil and disappointment we carry on. Woman from all over the globe are struggling and have no idea how to care for themselves. We have to learn how to be good to ourselves! I heard the self-care movement is equivalent to "I'm doing me", that self care is somehow wicked or selfish. The truth is, the whole of humanity depends on you caring for you.I was accustomed to giving my attention to everybody and everything except me. It wasn't until I was hurt too bad to cry that I realized I had placed me in the back burner. Devastated by my husband's infidelity, I was forced to come face to face with me. What did I want? Who did I want to be?Through this trauma, I learned to make myself a priority. It took six years to recover. I decided that I wanted to live, for real. I refuse to live as the bitter stink face chic or die as an angry black woman. This peace requires more than prayer. It requires a game plan. It requires action. I learned and developed tools and skills that helped to set me free from anguish. My mission is to share these practical how tools with other women and inspire them to get their happy back and keep it. I am proof that genuine joy is possible.
