I work as a staff environmental engineer and project coordinator. I have played a variety of roles on numerous large projects, including performing groundwater, surface water, sediment, and fish sampling; coordinating schedules, responses to comments, and subcontractor submittals; authoring semiannual status reports, environmental covenants, and proposals; assisting in preparation of RCRA and CERCLA reports and responses to comments; performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, drinking water surveys, and risk reviews; and preparing and reviewing analytical tables, cost estimates, and report figures.

I was the only junior engineer on staff at the time. I designed several pump stations and lift stations, reviewed and edited design specifications and drawings, and performed construction observation.

I was responsible for enforcing company policies and providing customer service in a friendly and professional manner. I supervised several employees and the recreational activities happening in the facilities. I also used Fusion software to check out equipment, control facility access, and monitor the calendar of events.

I helped graduate students with their thesis research by making standard solutions, measuring samples, and documenting data. I cleaned up the lab, and I also gained experience using a zero headspace extractor and ion chromatograph.

As Environmental Intern I monitored stormwater ponds, wastewater outfalls, and a hazardous waste facility cage to ensure regulatory compliance. I accompanied the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Orange County on annual and monthly inspections. I also performed a safety audit on an attraction before it was open to the public and ensured that safety regulations were followed at a construction site. My main project throughout the internship was to take a chemical inventory of the entire park, transition the material safety data sheets to an online database, and then teach the safety committee how to use the database.
