Research AssociateUniversity Of Liverpool Jun 2016 - Nov 2017Working as part of a multidisciplinary Rheumatology team on a project funded by Novartis to investigate IL-17A signalling mechanisms in neutrophils, with relevance to Psoriatic Arthritis, and the new anti-IL-17A therapy Secukinumab. As well as developing lab based skills, including neutrophil isolations, flow cytometry and luminescence assays, I recruited and consented blood donors to our study. I also a trained as a phlebotomist.During this post I organised and delivered a number of outreach activities for children at various venues including a primary school STEM day and at the Meet the Scientists event at the World Museum Liverpool. Organised the first Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Early Career Researcher Symposium.
