Angela Null began her dance studies at the Loudoun School of Ballet in Leesburg, Virginia at the age of 10. At the age of 14, she auditioned for and was admitted into the Kirov Academy of Ballet where she studied for four years as a scholarship student. During her tenure as a student, she received full artistic scholarships to attend the summer intensive programs at The Kirov Academy of Ballet, The Washington Ballet, Ballet Austin, Cincinnati Ballet, amongst others.Some of Ms. Null’s instructors have included, but are not limited to, Alla Sizova, Jacqueline Akhmedova, Angelina Armieskaya, Rudolf Kharatyan, Lev Ivanov, and Anatoli Kucheruk. She has also taken masterclasses from Suzanne Ferrell, Kevin McKenzie, Margaret Barbieri, Iain Webb, Violette Verdy, Laura Alonso, Ethan Stiefel, Martine van Hamel, Bonnie Mathis, Larissa Ponomarenko, amongst others.After graduating with her diploma in the Vaganova method in 2006, Ms. Null danced with companies including the Washington Ballet, Richmond Ballet, First State Ballet Theatre, and the Sarasota Ballet. Over the course of her decade-long career, her classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire has been extensive and diverse. Her most celebrated roles include dancing as both Odette and Odile in Swan Lake, Swanhilda in Coppelia, Kitri in Don Quixote, and the Russian Girl in Serenade. She is also the proud recipient of a gold medal from the National Youth Ballet Competition, sponsored by Russian Pointe, and placed amongst the top-twelve at the Youth America Grand Prix.Ms. Null has been teaching classical ballet technique for the past 17 years. She has staged full-length ballet productions, such as Beauty and the Beast, and has served as the director of the dance department at Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts, in Columbus, Georgia as well as the director of the ballet department at Urban Movement Dance Academy in El Paso, Texas.In May 2022, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in public relations, and in May 2024, she graduated from Georgetown University with a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications. When Ms. Null isn’t teaching or studying, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Alex, her dogs, Zoe and Gigi, her family and friends, traveling to new destinations, and practicing yoga. Ms. Null currently serves as the Artistic Director of Columbus State University’s Youth Dance Conservatory and The Columbus Ballet’s The Nutcracker.
