The principles accountabilities for this role were:-To develop complex, strategic and high value category plans and sourcing strategies across functional and organisational boundaries ensuring optimum value for money.-Management and influencing of senior stakeholders to align business strategy and policy to category plans.-Manage compliance to contract and improve supplier performance through SRM and 7 stage category management process.-Support the delivery of innovation through category plans including; best practice commercial terms;SRM strategies; volume leverage; total cost management; demand challenge; process efficiency/compliance; external benchmarking of best practice.-To effectively post contract manage all key suppliers through formalised meeting schedules, performance monitoring and managing exceptions/issues

The role of Supply Chain Specialist is to ensure 100% delivery to production against agreed targets, including:• Run and release the MRP Schedules to Suppliers• Manage all relevant call offs and transportation of supplier deliveries• Monitor supplier delivery performance and drive appropriate improvement action plans• Achieve the transportation, inventory, obsolescence and stock accuracy to agreed targets• Manage supplier and transport problems on a daily basis to avoid unnecessary cost and disturbance to Production
