I was the kid in highschool wearing tee-shirts with such messages as "Against Animal Testing," "Extinction is Forever," and "Stop Ocean Dumping." I sent amounts of my after-school-job paychecks to organizations like Greenpeace and ASPCA, and spent my time researching which cosmetics companies were the most cruelty-free. Having been born with an inability to ignore my principles, working to support a mission I believe in is more important to me than even the work that I do day-to-day. That's why I feel so fortunate to have been personally gratified by both the work and the missions strengthened by the positions I've held. Serving as Photo Editor at Habitat for Humanity International, and as Production Coordinator at Mercy Corps, allowed me to be a part of improving the lives and livelihoods of individuals across the US and around the world. These days, I help maintain a social media presence for Edible Seattle, a magazine dedicated to the Puget Sound/Washington sustainable foodshed. I've loved participating in a community of people and organizations who are not only focused on celebrating local foods and the people who grow and prepare them, but who are also fierce defenders of the environment, for our own sake and for the world. I dig that. During my 10+ years of experience on communications teams, I've gained skills in digital photo editing, organization, and storage, and in the production of printed materials and promotional items. I've proven I can deliver under strict deadlines, communicate and collaborate easily, and manage multiple projects under ever-changing conditions.
