As the senior advisor and technical expert for health care provider communications, I provided authoritative direction on user experience, content design, and content strategy. I strategically and tactically coordinated CMS' efforts to communicate complex national payment policies via websites, publications, trainings, multimedia, and national campaigns so that health care providers have the information they need to bill the Medicare program correctly.

I oversee the content strategy and information architecture for www.medicare.gov, the official government website and the #3 consumer site in the government. I lead a team of writers who coordinate our web presence for national campaigns about the Medicare program while keeping up with the latest trends and best practices in usability and user experience. To serve our audience of 45 million people with Medicare, I developed and oversee a Web Editorial Calendar, style guide, and writing/clearance process while training staff on web writing and usability principles. I also manage content and design for marketplace.cms.gov, the Nation’s partner resource for people helping consumers apply and enroll for the Health Insurance Marketplace (“ObamaCare”)In 2012, I led the successful www.medicare.gov website redesign, including parallel responsive design development and content migration to the site's first content management system across multiple contractors while maintaining brand recognition. The redesigned site won the 2013 GCN award for "outstanding information technology achievement in government" for responsive design and assets framework.
