CurrentThe Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia is one of the world’s leading cancer research, education and treatment centres globally and is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to people affected by cancer. I am responsible for:● Management and execution of scientific projects investigating the immunological response of T cells in metastatic melanoma● Leading a 20-people interdisciplinary effort to collect and analyse fresh tissue melanoma samples, coordinating nurses, support staff (Melanoma Research Victoria), surgeons, pathologists, bioinformaticians and researchers● Collaborating nationally with lead scientist in the field● Writing research papers (co-author of 2 methods book chapters on mass cytometry and single cells RNA sequencing coming out soon in Springer Nature’s “Melanoma-Methods and protocols”, 1 first-author manuscript in preparation for Cancer Cell Biology, co-author of 2 manuscripts under review )● Supervision of a fulltime research assistant and students: an honours student and an undergraduate summer student for 2020, 9 weeks-international student from Nanjin University as part of the InSPIRE program (2019). ● Writing of NHMRC and Cancer Council Victoria grant proposals (2 in 2019, 2 in 2020)● Oral presentation of scientific research findings at 5 internal meetings and 2 national conferences, consumer advocates and philantropists● Experimental skills: Phenotypic characterization and immune function of human T cells via flow and mass cytometry; sterile cell culture; sample preparation for single cell RNA and TCR sequencing● Data analysis of the experiments using statistical software for biologist (GraphPad Prism)● Targeted RNA sequencing analysis (Nanostring)
