In this role, I am responsible for volunteer mentor recruitment, training, stewardship and retention. I collaborate closely with regional and national program and development teams to build partnerships for a unique pipeline of mentors. BUILD currently serves 8 Boston public high schools, Randolph high school and one high school in Salem, MA. With a student-centered approach, my aim is to diversify our mentor pool to offer our future entrepreneurs excellent connections and opportunities.

Tomorrow’s Women TODAY is a not-for-profit organization founded to unite women who have been identified as leaders in both the public and private sectors. By supporting and mentoring these women, we hope to strengthen their leadership and enrich our local business communities.

Responsible for leading a team of AmeriCorps members (8) at a Boston public high school with the goal of keeping students on track to graduate. I supported a team in mentoring and tutoring students, tracking data outcomes and planning events. I established and maintained positive relationships with school partners and worked collaboratively with staff to ensure student success. Additionally, I planned and executed professional development and team building activities for my AmeriCorps team.

I enrolled children and adults into the community-based program at the agency, providing 1:1 relationships to children facing adversity. I supported the planning of events for current community matches in the Central Mass/Metrowest area in addition to supporting a caseload of 60 active matches. Supporting these matches meant providing guidance and resources to families and volunteers in the program. I interviewed prospective "Bigs" to be matched with prospective "Littles" and match them together based on common interests and experiences. I managed the Community Mentoring Team which supported about 200 matches at the agency. I was part of a quality assurance and program management team that utilized best practices for the success of matches. I also established a Diversity Council in hopes to recruit more mentors of color to reflect the population of children served at the agency.

Selected as one of 16 participants in a competitive leadership program designed specifically to support a new generation of leaders in the nonprofit sector. The Emerging Leaders Academy addressed the following themes throughout the program: identifying one's unique development journey; self-awareness and mindfulness, diversity and inclusion; effective workplace communication; and melding reflection with action.

As a volunteer, I co-led a 10 member board in supporting over 1,000 AmeriCorps Alums in the Boston area. The Board coordinates community service projects, advocates for national service, and plans social and networking activities in close collaboration with AmeriCorps Alums National. AmeriCorps Alums in Boston also provides professional development opportunities for its network in staying connected with local AmeriCorps programs.

As Manager of Corporate Engagement, I maintained, engaged and enhanced Cradles to Crayons' volunteer and giving base, through a creative and collaborative process by providing a high quality volunteer experience to corporate groups. I managed a portfolio of 30-50 existing corporate partners in fundraising and engagement stewarding them throughout the year in order to maximize potential.
