Working as part of the DRT team, I had the good fortune of being able to merge some of my strongest skills and long-term interests- policy research and advocacy, building and maintaining meaningful relationships, organizational leadership, program management, and development and implementation of training programs- all while protecting the rights of Tennesseans with disabilities. As part of BIAT's small but dedicated staff of brain injury professionals, I worked to build the agency's capacity and credibility as a statewide resource for brain injury survivors, their families and supporters, and service providers.Examples: • Established, implemented and administered programs, including new training initiatives • Supervised comprehensive re-development of website and all public relations media • Organizational liaison to partner agencies and referral sources • Developed grant proposals and guided fundraising efforts resulting in increased staff, programmatic, and organizational capacity• Led advocacy efforts at local and state levels

For several years I worked as part of CCF's US Country Management Team, overseeing the Northern Plains Office and providing administrative oversight for affiliate organizations in SD, MT, and ND. My role also included providing managerial support to affiliate agencies in VA, MS, TX, and OK. This position provided a unique and amazing opportunity to travel extensively throughout the US as well as internationally. My duties included the following:• Oversaw all operational aspects of multi-state regional office: personnel supervision; development of program rules and policies; program development, implementation, and evaluation; and budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting• Increased capacity of 15 affiliate/partner organizations, identifying hindrances, encouraging creative solutions, and mandating modifications• Enhanced operational accountability within area offices and affiliates as evidenced by: increased fiscal accountability and administrative willingness to restructure; improved programmatic performance, evaluation and reporting; and increased board involvement in affiliate agencies • Instituted networking protocols among affiliates including identification of individual director's expertise to maximize inter-agency self-sufficiency • Developed and implemented orientation and training systems for all US programs, targeting regional office staff as well as affiliate staff and boards of directors • Initiated the development of program evaluation tools and performance measures • Supported and acted as funding liaison for innovative programs for over 15,000 children, their families and communities • Coordinated all aspects of the agency's response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita • Developed grant proposals; implemented grant related programs and evaluation measurements; oversaw all grant related activities and reporting • Led advocacy efforts at local, state, national, and international levels• Acted as organizational liaison with all partners
