Trained the hard way to make all drinks from scratch by the notoriously insane San Francisco bar owner Norman Hobday aka Henry Africa. Not only did I suffer through the abuse, but I ran a tight ship behind the bar, made incredible drinks, and did my own bar-backing, waitressing, janitorial and diabetic nursing duties all at the exact same time. I transitioned out of serving/bartending around 2010 and advise marketing and media for a year afterwards until the death of Hobday. Dude actually lived inside the bar, so there are great stories if you ever want to hear them!
