I am busy coordinating and curating my second big art show, "Faded Glory" September 16th & 17th in Vancouver, Washington. Kickstarter picked it up as a creative project; so will be getting video ready for that asap. The focus starts with six black and white pieces in my Timeless Era series, done as canvas wrapped giclee's in 24"x36"! Very excited! This is a regular gallery show, with a silent auction donating 100% of it's proceeds to StreetReach NW, the non-profit to benefit the homeless. Continuing to work on editing "On The Fringes" documentary for release; with health issues am bumping the release date to Winter 2011. Check out the trailer on our site's homepage.Drew Studio Art has a substantial collection of my work, part of it is in a rotating gallery throughout the area. Participated in an art show and reception with Merrill Contractors, Inc. in Vancouver December 2010.Won third place in professional premium category for photograph at Clark County Fair. Photograph "Double Lens" came out in "VoiceCatcher 5". Taught two community workshops: "Entering the Writer's Market" - including writers with international book sales and "Fine Art Marketing 101" with options of publishing as an e-book. In the last few months have attended an Artist Trust Workshop in Seattle, Writer's Resource Fair in Portland, Working Artists Network Round-table and an Oregon Writer's Colony workshop. Also attended an artist's reception at Clatsop Community College where I did a reading of my juried in essay "Good On A Bad Day" re: experience in Tent City as a documentary co-producer. In more galleries- from Vancouver to the Coast and have participated in some art shows. Keeping up on the writing, and getting ready to pull some publicity together to create a platform for a proposal for a literary agent on "How Not to Marry a Sociopath, and other great tips for a really nice wedding!"Specialties: Communications- writing, verbal, photographic, in person, in print, over the phone, in presentations...you name it. I love learning, sharing and collaborating. Strengths include forward vision, integrity and a very positive attitude to make the most of any given situation. Enjoy interviewing artists, writers, musicians and event planning. Artistically: Commercial, landscape and portrait photography, painting, poetry. Architecture, staging and photographing homes/businesses. Also love to sing!

Communications & Media SpecialistStreetreach Nw Dec 2010 - PresentThis is a really exciting opportunity to help people on a level that is very personable and direct- that impacts me and my family at a core level. We're reaching out to men and women and children offering hope, support, encouragement and practical assistance to meet their needs as best we can. I'm working on grants and outreach; we're serving warm meals and sharing coats (and other items) under the Steel Bridge and the homeless in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA. Combining this with the documentary work and still photography has been incredible; getting to know people over these months serving them and seeing their challenges, their hearts and unfolding stories is invaluable re: insight into helping and sharing what needs to be offered for realistic services. I'm working on fund-raising, community connections and tying together services on the website, along with offering resources and practical assistance not only in the group but out on the street.

Sales/Interior DecoratingIsabell Ross Jun 2005 - Apr 2008Retail in an upscale boutique in Seaside, Oregon. Did merchandising, staging and marketing as a clerk in the retail business. Also trained under the certified interior decorator and worked with customers, along with staging a home for a local Realtor with furnishings from the items we carried. Deborah Lee, the owner, included me as a featured artist at numerous Art Walk events, and sold my paintings and photography in her beautiful shop. With thousands of items in the store, providing the backdrop for display was a large part of making successful sales, along with great customer service. Being outgoing, friendly and displaying personal interest allowed me to connect with people and build a rapport, which led to a list of regular customers both locally and from far away. Both the design aspects and the interaction with the public were very positive, enjoyable parts of this work experience.

Book Sales & PromotionsBeach Books Mar 2007 - Mar 2008This position entailed assisting customers with book recommendations, ordering books and handling sales. The sales clerks also wrote evaluations and read the proofs that were submitted by authors so we would know what the new books were on the market. I prepared and submitted press releases for author events, did interviews and was involved in media contacts. I was also involved in the book-signing at Beach Books with the pre-release of Ky Jenning's book (A Window To The Sea) which included my twelve photographs. Karen Emmerling, the owner, also invited me to be a participating artist in the ArtWalk at Beach Books, and have my photography for sale in her store. This was a great opportunity for me, as a writer, to see how Karen, as a business woman interacted with authors and the publishing world in general. It was a very positive experience learning from her, how an independent bookstore owner with so much knowledge and connections in that field (which alone is interesting enough) but in such a small tight-knit economically struggling community made things work. Even more so, she does it in such a gracious and sincere way.

Co-Producer For DocumentaryManifest Productions Jun 2003 - Oct 2003This was an amazing opportunity which opened up through a class I was taking at Bellevue Community College. Professor Dee McDonald, who traveled the world and had worked with many highly respected corporations teaching about diversity, asked her students what project they thought should be covered by an independent film-maker looking for topics. My idea was picked up- addressing homelessness and it's many misconceptions. When the film-maker (Charles Newman, owner of Manifest Productions) picked up the idea and started the project, the professor came back to me requesting additional feed-back for the documentary. Within a few weeks, I was asked to be on-board as a consultant, and eventually as one of the three producers. I worked on written and oral content, timing and film editing, interviews and photography. What unfolded during the next several months was eye-opening. I was able to go into Tent City III outside of Seattle and conduct extensive interviews with those residing in the homeless community, along with interviewing police, religious leaders and other social service providers in the area. Some of the residents allowed me to photograph them, I shared meals and talked by the light of the fire barrel in the cool of the evening. Men and women opened up their hearts, shared their lives and struggles and left a lasting impression.PBS considered the documentary, but the final product was not able to be finished due to changes in the production company. Since then, I've written two articles about homelessness. The first was an assignment by Hipfish Magazine of 2,200 words for their cover article Dec. 2006. The second, more in an essay form, was published in RAIN's 42nd annual edition (Feb. 2010).
